To Whom It May Concern,

As having the title and responsibility of bringing high caliber curriculum staff development to our teachers in Saugus School District - it was with excitement and high expectations that Janet Squires was commissioned to present to both our teachers and students.

I had the privilege of attending both student and teacher workshops. Not only did we ALL delight in Janet's book, The Gingerbread Cowboy , but Janet's presentation mesmerized children and adults (teachers) alike. Janet has the ability to conduct her workshops on both a professional and personal level.

Teachers went away with "gems" of ideas and comments of inspiration to impart to their students. There were many "ah-ha" moments for all of us as writers and teachers of writing because of Janet's lively and realistic relaying of her "Becoming an Author" story. It gave us a unique insight to promoting our students as life-long writers.

I delighted in watching the faces of students and teachers alike and couldn't help but wonder what impact, experiencing the authenticity of Janet Squires, she would have on their lives.

Personally, I am experiencing an immediate impact. Janet has given me the confidence to enter a poetry piece I wrote in a Mother's Competition.

Hi Janet,
I just wanted to tell you that parents and teachers both are still raving about your visit. One parent told me that her daughter went home and wrote a six page story about gingerbread elves. And, I followed up on your visit with all the classes and the kids recalled almost everything about your presentation--that is really something!
